The proposal
Jess decided to take us to Payson, Arizona for our 1 year anniversary. Payson is a very special place to us and where we really realized we had something special. So Jess thought it only fitting to go back to where our love really turned into something truly amazing.
For weeks prior to this trip Jess had been making wise cracks about what he had gotten me for our anniversary and being devious. All he would tell me about the trip is where we were going and to NOT look in the trunk. Fast forward weeks later....

We arrive in Payson on a gorgeous fall morning and to my surprise he booked us in a little cabin complete with full kitchen and an awesome fireplace in the middle of the living room. The next day we got ready to go hiking to this amazing little waterfall where we had gone on our first vacation and where everything began.
We got to our destination and Jess began getting weird on me. We are roaming around hiking for awhile and Jess had gotten all quiet and figgity. We got to the waterfall and at this point I had absolutely no idea what was going on. Jess began stumbling over his words and looked at me said my name and.... a group of forgein hikers came down the trail being loud and yelling at each other. He got upset and said we should just head back to the hike had been really nice but lets go somewhere else. We got to the car he opened the truck and put our back packs in the truck. Well me being sarcastic I made a wise crack about not seeing anything in the trunk.... Big mistake he actually didn't find it as amusing as I did. I was trying to lighten the mood and make him smile because something had gotten into him. It was our anniversary he wasn't supposed to be down.
We then went to dinner and still not a word from him at all. .... We get back to our room and get ready for bed. I came out of the kitchen into the living room to Jess standing there in front of the fireplace. He looks at me and says how much he loves me and how he's sorry for the way he's been that day but when you that stressed about doing this... got down on one knee and asked me to marry him!! I seriously didn't believe what he was doing , what was going on and what I was seeing! I cried and hugged him and almost forgot to tell him YES!
Here it is! Took him 3 months to design my ring and hand pick my stones :) Black diamonds and Garnet (his birthstone) He will have sapphire, my birthstone, with black diamonds. I LOVE IT!
